How to get there
There are flights from almost every major city in Brazil to the international airport of Porto Seguro. International flights have stopovers in Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.
From the airport it’s almost 5 km until the ferry boat and then 4.5 km until the center of Arraial d’Ajuda. You can take a taxi from the airport that brings you straight to your hotel or pousada. Another option is to take a taxi that brings you to the ferry boat. On the other side of the river in Arraial d’Ajuda, you can take a local bus or van that will take you to the center of Arraial d’Ajuda.
By bus:
There are very comfortable busses from almost every major city towards Arraial d ‘Ajuda. If there are no more direct ticket until Porto Seguro available, you can travel until the city of Eunápolis (60 km from Arraial d’Ajuda) where a bus company called “Águia Azul” will take you straight to the center of Arraial d’Ajuda.
From the bus station it’s 5 km until the ferry boat and then 4.5
km until the center of Arraial d’Ajuda. You can take a taxi that
brings you straight to your hotel or pousada. Another option is
to take a local bus that leaves you approximately 400 m from the
ferry boat. On the other side of the river in Arraial d’Ajuda,
you can take a local bus or van that will take you to the center
of Arraial d’Ajuda.
By car:

Follow the BR 101 highway until the city of Eunapolis, there you have access to the BR 367 highway until the Vale Verde (km 32) where you find the road to Arraial d’Ajuda.
The ferry boat:
The ferry boat operates 24 hours a day and takes about 10 minutes. Until 11.00pm the interval is every 30 minutes, after that every hour until 06.00am.
Circulating in the city:
Arraial d’Ajuda is a small village, the whole centre and most of the beaches are accessible by foot. To reach the more distant beaches you can take a local van that leaves from the square near the church, these vans are used frequently by tourist and locals.
